Echo bosses are being developed as private solo encounters with their own identity, arena flow, and reward rules.
The goal is not to place every variant into one shared room or use a universal reward table. Each boss should feel like a deliberate extension of its normal encounter while still presenting a different challenge.
Private by design
Selecting an Echo boss will create a private instance for that player. This keeps the encounter predictable, prevents interference, and gives mechanics enough room to be tuned around solo play.
Distinct rewards
Echo rewards are intended to be boss-specific. That gives each encounter a reason to exist and avoids a single shared table making every boss feel interchangeable.
Current design rules
- Each Echo boss enters its own private solo instance.
- The arena is based on the boss's established encounter space.
- Each variant receives a separate reward table.
- Echo rewards only roll for positively marked Echo instance bosses.
What comes next
The encounter foundation comes first. Individual mechanics, balancing, access items, visual polish, and final reward values can then be developed without weakening the separation between systems.
