Sarim provides full RuneLite plugin support through the official Sarim client, delivered by a small cross-platform launcher that keeps the client up to date.

Use Sarim's launcher, not an official-game login. The Sarim client is separate from official RuneScape and Old School RuneScape services. Create separate credentials and never reuse an official-game, email, or Discord password.

What RuneLite support means on Sarim

RuneLite is familiar to many old-school players because plugins can improve interface clarity, provide quality-of-life tools, and make information easier to read. Sarim's published client specification lists full RuneLite plugin support.

That support is provided through Sarim's own client environment. Do not assume that a separate official RuneLite installation will connect to Sarim, or that files and plugins distributed for another server belong in the Sarim client.

Current desktop requirements

  • Platforms: Windows, macOS, and Linux
  • Runtime: Java 8 or newer
  • Launcher: executable JAR, currently listed as 1.1 MB
  • Updates: handled by the official launcher
  • Mobile: in development, not currently published as an official download

Requirements can change as the client develops. The official Sarim Play page is the authority for the current download, checksum, file size, and platform notes.

Safe setup in four steps

1. Start at sarimps.com

Open the official Play page directly. Avoid launcher copies sent through direct messages, video descriptions, file hosts, or another private server's community.

2. Check Java

The current launcher requires Java 8 or newer. If your computer does not open JAR files automatically, install a supported Java runtime from a trusted source before continuing.

3. Start the launcher

Double-click the JAR on Windows when file associations are configured. On macOS or Linux, open a terminal in the download folder and run java -jar Sarim-Launcher.jar.

4. Create a separate Sarim account

Complete account setup on first login using a password you have never used elsewhere. Sarim staff will never ask for that password.

Using plugins responsibly

Plugin support should improve the client experience without replacing account security or fair-play rules. Use the plugins made available through the supported Sarim client and follow current server rules for permitted tools.

Be cautious with third-party plugin files, modified clients, or instructions that ask you to disable security controls. “RuneLite compatible” is not a reason to trust an unrelated download.

If the launcher does not open

Windows

Confirm that Java is installed and try java -jar Sarim-Launcher.jar from a terminal if double-clicking does nothing.

macOS

Run the launcher from Terminal. If macOS blocks it, review the file under System Settings → Privacy & Security and allow only the launcher downloaded from sarimps.com.

Linux

Install a Java 8-or-newer runtime using your distribution's package manager, then run the launcher from a terminal in its download directory.

The Play page contains the maintained launcher troubleshooting instructions and official SHA-256 checksum.

What about mobile?

A Sarim mobile client is in development. Until an official mobile release appears on sarimps.com, do not install an APK or mobile client claiming to be Sarim from another source.
